SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – NFL players Harrison Smith and Nate Gerry are teaming up with the Sanford POWER Riggs Premier Football Academy for a defensive clinic.
The clinic is from 3-5 p.m. on June 17 at the Sanford Fieldhouse. The clinic is open to students entering K-8th grade and costs $25.
Smith, an All-Pro safety for the Minnesota Vikings, is entering his eighth season in the NFL. The former Notre Dame standout and first-round draft pick is a four-time Pro Bowl selection for the Vikings.
Gerry, a linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, is entering his third season in the NFL. Gerry earned All-Big Ten honors as a safety at Nebraska before the Eagles selected him in the fifth round in 2017. Gerry is a Sioux Falls Washington graduate who won Super Bowl LII with Philadelphia in 2018.
“Young athletes who attend this clinic will get the opportunity to learn from NFL players who know what it takes to succeed at the game’s highest level,” said Kurtiss Riggs, director of the Sanford POWER Riggs Premier Football Academy. “We’re excited to have Harrison and Nate join us for a fun afternoon of learning important skills.”
The Sanford POWER Riggs Premier Football Academy is dedicated to provide year-round training options for teams and individual athletes from ages eight and up. Each athlete will receive specific training advice to help reach their personal performance goals. These goals will be obtained through demonstrations of drills and game-like situations. Players will also be coached by professional staff with experience in all positions and all areas of the game.
