SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Former South Dakota State star and current Detroit Lion Zach Zenner will host a running back clinic with Sanford POWER Riggs Premier Football Academy in July at the Sanford Fieldhouse.
The Zach Zenner Running Back Clinic is July 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. and is open for athletes from second to 12th grade. Zenner will cover stance, footwork, drill work, and blocking for running backs.
“We are very fortunate to get Zenner back before his NFL camp begins,” said Kurtiss Riggs, director of Sanford POWER Riggs Premier Football Academy. “He is one of the best to ever play in this region, and the athletes will greatly enjoy working with him.”
Zenner in May signed a free-agent deal with the Lions. A three-time consensus All-American, he became the first player in Division I football history to rush for 2,000 yards in three consecutive seasons. His 6,548 career rushing yards are a Missouri Valley Football Conference record and rank third in FCS history. A native of Eagan, Minnesota, Zenner also holds the MVFC record for career all-purpose yards with 8,211 as he also tallied 909 receiving yards and 754 yards on kickoff return during his collegiate career.
