Our Return to Performance program utilizes the FIELDHOUSE’s state-of-the-art facilities to help athletes determine when they are ready to return to performance.
Sanford Sports Medicine Outreach is located at the Sanford FIELDHOUSE. Our athletic trainers work with individual athletes and team to help them train, improve conditioning, prevent injury and perform at their best. Our certified athletic trainers are well-known for their work with athletes at area schools and colleges, as well as professional teams.
Studying the physiological and musculoskeletal aspects of athletic performance is an important part of our mission. The team at the Sanford Sports Science Institute studies the effects of proper hydration on athletes to help fine-tune their hydration needs and provide customized strategies that will reduce injury risk, optimize performance, and minimize rehabilitation and return-to-play time.
Dr. Thayne Munce will be studying G-forces and concussion in youth athletes, the first study of its kind. And that's just the beginning.
